Chef'd Meal Kits
I've recently gotten into eating meal preps and meal subscription kit packages, and was pleasantly surprised when I ran into Chef'd. I picked up two different meals at Costco to make at home! I got the Herb Crusted Flank Steak ($15) as well as the Weeknight Chicken Pad Thai ($11). For this blog post, I'll be featuring the pad thai and how easy the whole process was! The difficulty level on the box said medium, and cook time was about 30 minutes for 2 to 4.5 people.
Instructions are included on the back of the box, and the first steps consisted of mincing, slicing, and chopping. Everything was prepackaged and portioned perfectly, so it was very easy to follow. During this step, we minced the garlic, peeled and cut the onion, sliced the green onions and carrots, and cut the limes.
After slicing all of the veggies, the prepping continued with cracking the eggs, picking the cilantro, and slicing the chicken. At this stage, we also boiled the water to cook the noodles!
Next up: the marinade! For this, Chef'd had provided the perfect amount of sauce to mix in. We started off with combining brown sugar with water, and then we added fish sauce, Sriracha, rice wine vinegar, and lime. We coated the chicken with the marinade and tossed it in the fridge for a few minutes while the noodles cooked!
And... the grand finale! We diverted from the instructions a bit and sautéed the veggies, then added the noodles and chicken. Finished it off with cilantro, crushed peanuts, and lime!
We shared the dish between three people and still had some leftovers! The quality was great- we were impressed at how tasty the Pad Thai was. The meal kit was very easy to use; it was straightforward and everything was included (besides cooking oil). This kit is perfect for families or couples, and the price is also very reasonable. Glad Chef'd is now sold at retailers across the US; it's makes it very convenient to pick up while I'm shopping there!
